If you purchase CGC during a Live Show, the process is as follows:

1. Buy grading for the book you want graded.

2. Take a screenshot of your username + CGC that the host writes on a sticky note. You can also go to your video receipt and get a screenshot that way. Make sure to send a follow up message if you do this.

3. Join our facebook group to be notified when the books arrive. (8-12 weeks typically)

4. Buy a $1 CGC Pickup in a follow up Live Show on the same platform you made the original purchase on. You will need your screenshot from Step #2 to pickup your slab.

We do not charge extra to grade comics, therefore we do not have a dedicated person keeping track of your books. Screenshots ensure the right book goes back to the right person, and pickups in the Live Shows ensure there is a 1 to 1 account of a book being graded, and then being picked up. Unfortunately this is the process we must follow, otherwise all orders are always available for a full refund.

Orders are cancelled for a number of reasons that may include:

1. You purchased more than 1 of a given item.

2. You purchased something that was not meant for you to purchase.

3. You are not in our group.

4. You have previously been black listed by TopShelfComic, or a TopShelf Retailer. All appeals can be sent to Support@topshelfcomic.com

Great news! Since November 2025 all bags sold on our Live Shows will be RIPPED before they are auctioned. The reason for this:

1. Live selling platforms such as Whatnot have adopted policies from the sports and trading card breaks and have applied those exact same policies to ALL collectibles on their platform. Until they are able to tailor the rule set for comics we are forced to use one of THEIR supplied manufacturers such as ALCOM if we want our products approved. This just is not in line with our business mindset.

2. Over 80% of the people attending our live shows are our group and community members. It feels great to own a TopShelf book, but feels less great if you already own 3 copies of the same book. Seeing the books ripped BEFORE purchase is a great way to ensure you get exactly what you want, and if you know a fellow Shelfie who is looking for a particular book, you can buy it knowing you have a motivated trading partner.

Easy! We actually hand check every book. Due to our rigorous and quite frankly ridiculous attention to detail, we have an over 95% 9.8 rate with CGC. The process:

1. Send your book to CGC or PSA.

2. Receive your book back from CGC or PSA.

3. Include your original COA you received from us, with your graded book in a picture. Send us an email to Support@topshelfcomic.com for your replacement.

4. Ship us your graded slab along with COA, and we will replace it with a 9.8.

Being blocked or banned is NOT a fun experience for anyone. Unfortunately, the nature of live shows is a hectic one. Hosts have to make split second decisions on what they feel works best for their particular show moment to moment. Our moderators are usually even keeled and helpful, but emotions get the best of us all.
